Star Daughter by Shveta Thakrar // Night Markets, Star Courts and Desi goodness

GOODREADS // AMAZON // BOOK DEPOSITORY The daughter of a star and a mortal, Sheetal is used to keeping secrets. Pretending to be "normal." But when an accidental flare of her starfire puts her human father in the hospital, Sheetal needs a full star's help to heal him. A star like her mother, who returned to the sky long ago. Sheetal's quest to save her father will take her to a celestial court of shining wonders and dark shadows, where she must take the stage as her family's champion in a competition to decide the next ruling house of the heavens--and win, or risk never returning to Earth at all. This gorgeously imagined YA debut blends shades of Neil Gaiman's Stardust and a breathtaking landscape of Hindu mythology into a radiant contemporary fantasy.   ( A huge thank you to the  HOV Tours  and HarperTeen for the eARC and the opportunity to be a part of this blog tour.  ~When a book sees you~      Yes I am absolutely going to s

Blogger Voice - Bookish Collectibles ~ Yay or Nay?

Bookish merch and collectibles are all the rage now. Especially if you're on bookstagram, you must have come across TONS of merch and collectibles; from bookmarks and character cards to funko pops and tapestries!

I myself own a lot of bookish merch but I think by bookstagram standards I own less than average? LOL Anyway, I don't actively buy them. Most are merch that came in book subscription boxes, rep packages or as gifts. I would LOVE to buy some merch myself but they can be quite expensive! Especially collectibles like funko pops and action figures are very expensive for those living outside the US. Shipping charges are crazy and at the end of the day even though I want to buy all the merch, I have to hold myself back.

Of late I've come across many who feel merch and collectibles are a waste of time and money. I've heard people scoff when asked about merch because according to them, buying those are too childish. I personally think that if something makes you happy (and doesn't affect anyone else), it's NOT a waste of time or money. I myself would probably spend on books rather than merch but that doesn't make merch any lesser. It's just my priorities.

Do you buy merch or collectibles? What kind of merch do you like most? Tell me in the comments below!
