Star Daughter by Shveta Thakrar // Night Markets, Star Courts and Desi goodness

GOODREADS // AMAZON // BOOK DEPOSITORY The daughter of a star and a mortal, Sheetal is used to keeping secrets. Pretending to be "normal." But when an accidental flare of her starfire puts her human father in the hospital, Sheetal needs a full star's help to heal him. A star like her mother, who returned to the sky long ago. Sheetal's quest to save her father will take her to a celestial court of shining wonders and dark shadows, where she must take the stage as her family's champion in a competition to decide the next ruling house of the heavens--and win, or risk never returning to Earth at all. This gorgeously imagined YA debut blends shades of Neil Gaiman's Stardust and a breathtaking landscape of Hindu mythology into a radiant contemporary fantasy.   ( A huge thank you to the  HOV Tours  and HarperTeen for the eARC and the opportunity to be a part of this blog tour.  ~When a book sees you~      Yes I am absolutely go...

Top Ten Tuesday # 1 : Characters I'd name a pet after

Top ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Follow the link to know more about the meme and join up!

This is my first Top Ten Tuesday and am very excited! The theme for this month is 'Ten characters I'd name something after'. I've decided to go with 'Ten Characters I'd name a pet after'

1. Sirius from Harry Potter ~ Sirius is one of my favourite characters from the HP world and I can totally imagine having a giant, loving black dog called Sirius.

2. Draco from Harry Potter ~ Because we all love Draco Malfoy and can't you just imagine a gorgeous, haughty white cat named Draco?

3. Nyx from House of Night ~ Though I haven't even read the second book of the series, I'd love to name a cat after Nyx; because the name sounds magical.

4. Katniss from The Hunger Games ~ Despite the fact that she isn't too fond of Prim's cat, I'd name a cat Katniss cause well, it sounds good. Besides, Katniss is pretty Bad-ass and I loved her throughout the series.

5. Sherlock from Sherlock Holmes ~ Because I love Sherlock. I love Benedict Cumberbatch too! A wise dog named Sherlock sounds good to me!

6. Mr.Darcy from Pride and Prejudice ~ A proud, aloof but gorgeous cat maybe? Sounds great to me!

7. Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy ~ Rose Hathaway is one of my favourite protagonist ever! Could name a small but tenacious dog/cat after her.

8. Perseus (Percy) from Percy Jackson and the Olympians ~ I love a whole lot of Greek mythology-related names and it would be fun to name a cat/dog Perseus.

9. Persephone (Percy) from Percy Jackson and the Olympians ~ Well I love the name. The fact that she's a character from the book doesn't have much to do with it. i just love the sound of the name. And imagine having two cat. one named Perseus and one named Persephone; both nicknamed Percy!! That would be hillarious!

10. Daemon from Lux ~ The name is plain adorable. I'd name a pet Daemon just so i can use the name all day!
