Star Daughter by Shveta Thakrar // Night Markets, Star Courts and Desi goodness

GOODREADS // AMAZON // BOOK DEPOSITORY The daughter of a star and a mortal, Sheetal is used to keeping secrets. Pretending to be "normal." But when an accidental flare of her starfire puts her human father in the hospital, Sheetal needs a full star's help to heal him. A star like her mother, who returned to the sky long ago. Sheetal's quest to save her father will take her to a celestial court of shining wonders and dark shadows, where she must take the stage as her family's champion in a competition to decide the next ruling house of the heavens--and win, or risk never returning to Earth at all. This gorgeously imagined YA debut blends shades of Neil Gaiman's Stardust and a breathtaking landscape of Hindu mythology into a radiant contemporary fantasy.   ( A huge thank you to the  HOV Tours  and HarperTeen for the eARC and the opportunity to be a part of this blog tour.  ~When a book sees you~      Yes I am absolutely going to s

Emoji Book Tag

Hello beautiful readers Today I'm going to do a BOOK TAG! Book tags aren't something I really do (as a matter of fact this is the first book tag am doing) BUT I was tagged by my darling friend, Prabhleen @ Booksarelife987 and this tag looks like so much fun!! (The tag was created by InkBonesBooks ) All you have to do in this tag is to correspond books to your 5 recent emojis (Since I'm like epicly busy I'm gonna be doing 3 emojis though! I'm going to follow Prabhleen's example and go for two books per emoji)... So here goes!!

LAUGHING SO HARD I'M CRYING EMOJI

This is an emoji I use a lot! It can mean anything from "hey that's funny!" to "OMG YOU ARE FREAKING HILARIOUS AND I'M LAUGHING SO HARD AND CHOKING ON FOOD!" (Mostly, this happens when I'm reading Cait's posts #TrueStory)

The Books-

Actually speaking, just about every Rick Riordan books makes me ROFL so hard! There is so much humor and sass in these books that it's a surprise I haven't choked on something and been sent to Underworld already. (In case you didn't realize, I'm ALWAYS eating.)

Aqson Level 1 is author Sreejib's debut book and it is FREAKING HILARIOUS despite the very serious life-or-death plot. I remember falling off my chair while reading it for the first time because I was laughing too hard.

THE CRYING EMOJI

This is the emoji I use when I'm complaining about college work (I do that about ten times a day) So basically it's an emoji I use when I'm feeling sorry for myself. So I'm gonna go for books where I feel sorry for a certain character.

The Books -

I know I've been featuring Flawed by Cecelia Ahern just about everywhere! (My blog, bookstagram and also shoving it in front of people's eyes when they come over) It's just that the book is SO powerful and had me feeling many emotions. From anger to fear. I felt extremely sad for the main character in this book! There is so much horribleness going on! Also guys, in case you haven't gathered it already, THIS IS A MUST-READ!

THIS BOOK BROKE MY HEART AND THERE ARE STILL PIECES MISSING!!! This book had left my heart aching for our little protagonist Conor. A dark and beautiful tale that literally broke my heart! 💔

SMILING FACE, SMILING EYES EMOJI

This is another smiley I use a LOT! I basically use it whenever I'm feeling good. So I think of it as a feel-good smiley. I'm gonna go for books that make my heart feel all warm and fuzzy. Actually I'm having a hard time selecting books for this category! (Because most of the books I read have characters going through hell and a lack of happiness!)

The Books -

These boys have given me tears but also SO MUCH JOY! The friendship of The Raven Boys and Blue is just so beautiful and makes me smile so much!! 💕

And of course all the heartwarming scenes and people in Harry Potter! I love just about everything about this series and it's my comfort series!

The people I'd like to tag to do the Emoji Tag are -

Would love to see what you guys pick!
